All Aboard!
Welcome to planDisney, Elizabeth. It’s so nice to meet you. I see you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation. Have you booked your visit, or are you still in the planning/researching phase? I’ll be honest, even as a frequent visitor, I always do a little research before each visit because I am constantly finding new things to do or see. I’m ashamed to share that this past March was my first time visiting Tom Sawyer Island! I’m so glad I got to walk through it and explore it before it’s reimagined as
Piston Peak National Park.
Bus transportation is the most common way to zoom around the Walt Disney World Resort. Bus services between Disney Resort hotels and Disney theme parks begin 45 minutes prior to opening and ends one hour after closing. I like to prepare my family for those early rope-dropping mornings with a “be ready time”. For us, that time is usually an hour before the park opens, so that we can get to the bus with enough time to board one of those first few buses that are heading to the theme park we are planning on visiting that day.
Of course, depending on which resort you stay at, opens up new forms of transportation. For example, Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Riviera all can cruise in the sky to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios on the
Disney Skyliner. The Skyliner begins running one hour before Early Theme Park Entry begins at EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And will continue to run for 90 minutes after EPCOT or Hollywood Studios closes. Of course, the weather can sometimes impact these times, but don’t worry, a bus is never too far away.
Some other resorts also offer
water transportation. You can board a ferry boat or water taxi from your resort to your destination. Depending on which resort you stay at and where you are trying to go, a water taxi may be steps away. My little ones love taking the ferry boat to Magic Kingdom, while I prefer the Monorail. There are just so many forms of transportation, I can assure you, you will get to where you need to be. So Hakuna Matata, and enjoy the ride.
Elizabeth, I hope this helps answer your question. If you have any other questions, or even resort-specific questions,
you know where to find us!
The Magic is Calling,
