Hi Lindsay and welcome to planDisney!
Being a
Walt Disney World Passholder gives my family the flexibility to visit the theme parks as often as possible and we sure do take advantage of that! We are always ready to hop in the car and head over for the day, weekend or a longer trip.
You have an excellent question about
theme park reservations and the answer is that currently there is no penalty for not showing up for a park reservation that you have booked. It is a courtesy to other Guests and families that are wanting a park day to cancel your reservations if you are no longer able to go. I admit that I have forgotten to cancel a time or two, but when I figure out if I am not going to make it, I pop on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App and cancel the reservations that I have. You can also easily modify theme park reservations if you decide that you would like to head to a different park instead, subject to availability.
I see that you'll be visiting in just a few days! If you have an
EPCOT reservation between October 2-4, you can attend the
Passholder preview for Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana before it officially opens. I took my family to the preview last weekend and it was really beautiful. My daughter really enjoyed it and loved finding all of the hidden Moana characters throughout the experience.
Please
stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
