Hey there, Ashley. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
Every year my mother scoops my daughter up and jets off to Walt Disney World for the weekend. They call it their annual skip trip. This year, much to my daughter's delight, they stayed at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I can officially report, as of a few weeks ago, there are still bunk bed rooms at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I don't know what it is about bunk beds but they seem to make every child happy. She had a great time sleeping on the top bunk while staying there. She wants me to let you know that the beds are very comfortable. When booking your
Walt Disney World vacation, if you are interested in the bunk bed rooms, you'll need to make sure to select rooms that actually state they are bunk bed rooms. Not every room comes standard with them.
Bunk bed rooms can be savannah view, pool view or standard view. These style of rooms can accommodate up to 4 adults. I actually haven't heard any rumors about the bunk beds going away so I'd say if they interest you, go ahead and book away!
While you are staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I highly recommend you check out the
Starlight Safari. My daughter did this on her last trip and had the best time. It's a totally different perspective on an African Safari. You'll be provided with night vision goggles as you drive across the savanna on the lookout for 20+ African species that call Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge their home. My daughter got to see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, some exotic birds and even a cute little bunny. If you have your cell phone handy during the tour, hold the camera lens up to the night vision goggles for some really great pictures!
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to come back and ask.
