Hi, there!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Melissa. I'm so glad you stopped by with this great question!
I completely understand your disappointment. My family was so bummed when Lilo's Playhouse closed last year. My sons just loved spending an evening there and my husband and I certainly enjoyed the time to ourselves! While it's a shame to hear that Pixar Play Zone at Disney's Contemporary Resort has closed too, I'm happy to tell you there are a few alternatives!
Captain Hook's Pirate Crew is the newest kids-only experience at the Walt Disney World Resort. This brand-new offering might be the perfect option for your little scallywags! Recruits for Captain Hook's Pirate Crew are dropped off at
Disney's Beach Club Resort for swashbuckling activities and a pirate's feast. Reservations for this experience can be made by calling (407) 824-KIDS or (407) 824-5437.
You may also want to consider using an
in-room babysitter from Kids Nite Out. My husband and I used this service last summer so we could enjoy a date night without our three kiddos in tow. What I really loved about Kids Nite Out is that my kids didn't stay in our hotel room for the
entire evening. Our babysitter came prepared with age-appropriate games and toys for our kids ranging in age from 8-years old to 11-months old, but with our permission, she took the kids out of the room for dessert and some of the Resort hotel's recreational activities. I also loved that I could book this service online at kidsniteout.com. Talk about convenience!
While you count down the days until your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog. It's your best resource for news and updates about Disney Parks and destinations. If a new childcare offering becomes available between now and your stay, you're sure to hear about it on the Disney Parks Blog!
I hope this was helpful, Melissa. Please let me know if you have any other questions about traveling with your sons or about planning a much-needed date night!
