Bright suns, Brendan, and welcome to
planDisney!
It sounds like you recently traveled to a galaxy far, far away and built your very own custom lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers in Black Spire Outpost. What an epic journey that must have been! I went on a similar journey with my Padawan a few years ago. Watching him build a legendary lightsaber was an experience I’ll never forget!
I’m so sorry to hear you’re having issues with your new lightsaber, Brendan. My son actually had a similar issue a few weeks after he bought his lightsaber, too. We discovered that he needed to change the three AAA batteries that power the lightsaber, so, this could be your issue as well. Here are some instructions to help you check your batteries: First, look for the cylindrical battery pack in the bottom of the chassis – it’s hidden by the pommel cap. You’ll see that the pommel cap attaches to the bottom of the hilt. So, you’ll need to remove the cap and the attachment holding the battery pack in place. Next, you’ll slide the pack out, replace the batteries, reinsert the pack and the attachment, and place the pommel cap back on the hilt. I sure hope this does the trick, and that your lightsaber’s Kyber Crystal is glowing brightly once again!
If changing the batteries doesn’t help, I recommend sending an email to merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com. In your email, include an image showing your proof of purchase, whether it’s your receipt or a portion of your credit card statement that proves you purchased your lightsaber from
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. You can include a brief description of the issue you're having, or even a video if you’re able to capture the problem. This will help narrow down the issue so that the Cast Member can help you come to a solution faster.
If you have any other questions about your lightsaber, you can also call the Disneyland Resort’s
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Experiences phone line at (714) 300-7805 for additional support.
‘Til the Spire, Brendan!
