We're building a lightsaber and droid at Hollywood Studios -what are our options afterwards? Do we carry them around the park in a backpack? Do we somehow send them to the hotel? Do we need to take them to hotel ourselves? Or ship home directly(cost?)?

Greetings, Padawan Katarzyna, and welcome to planDisney.

I’m so happy that the Force led you to us. I’m no Jedi Master, but I am fairly familiar with building a droid and lightsaber of my own. My family and I built two droids and a lightsaber all during the same visit and it was such a great experience. What we did was schedule our builds for later in the day so that we could just go back to our room after we were done. I usually like to recommend that tip to fellow Palawans. Plus, since it will be closer to the evening hours,  you'll be able to take some photos with your lightsaber lit up while exploring Batuu

Another option for you would be to plan for a midday build followed by a resort break so that you can rest your feet and take your new cargo back to your room with you. Now, if you are anything like my son and refuse to leave the park for the day, consider renting a locker. I believe the larger locker can store your droid, but you will still have to carry your new lightsaber around with you.

Katarzyna, you can also ship your new cargo home directly after you are done building. The shipping cost will vary on the planet of Batuu, but I’ve found that it’s not much more than your local shipping stores on Earth. All you’ll need to do is head on over to Droid Depot or Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities with your receipt and a Cast Member there will be more than happy to complete that shipping process for you. You can even ask them before completing the shipment for a cost estimate, that way you can decide if that is the best option for you. I feel that shipping from the parks is a great option so that you don’t have to scramble to make room in your current cargo bay for your new treasures. Especially if you’re an over-packer like me.

How you choose to journey through the Outer Rim is completely up to you! My Younglings enjoyed the building process but not so much the carrying part. This is why I recommend that late build or shipping straight home. Either way, it will be an experience to remember on your journey through a galaxy far far away. Don’t forget to take a break from the fun and refuel at Docking Bay 7. It’s where all the travelers rest and refuel for their journey.

Have a great visit, Katarzyna, and May the Force be with you.

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
