I see where building a light saber has gone up but I was under the impression that because we already made reservations, 40 days ago before the price went up, that we would still pay the $199. Trying to work out our budget so how much do we pay?

    Hi Neil!

I can totally understand why younglings and padawans would want to build their own lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop-Handbuilt Lightsabers. My teenage son cannot wait until he can experience this on our next Walt Disney World vacation! The fine print about Savi’s Workshop says “all prices, experiences, information and offerings are subject to restrictions, change or cancellation without notice.” Since prices have increased, $ 219.99 (plus tax) is the going rate for building your own lightsaber.

Your reservation for Savi’s Workshop simply held your spot; you were not charged anything at that time. So Guests are now subject to whatever pricing exists on the day of their reservation. Sorry to be all Darth Vader as the bearer of bad news! If you feel like you’ve changed your mind on building a lightsaber, just be sure to make your cancellation at least one day in advance to avoid being charged a full builder fee.

I promise that there are so many amazing experiences available in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you can definitely fill your Jedi plate with plenty to stay busy. From piloting the Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run to drinking blue milk from the Milk Stand to exploring the souvenir stands of Batuu, there’s so much to see and do. Here’s a planDisney tip: there are secrets throughout the Black Spire Outpost that can be unearthed using the Play Disney Parks app, enabling you to take on jobs, interact with droids, and even translate various languages from across the galaxy.

Plot a course back to planDisney with more questions, Neil. And then get ready to make that jump to lightspeed because your summer vacation is almost here!

May the Force be with you!
