Bright Suns, Paige!
Hooray for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit! I hope you are having a wonderful time planning your trip and counting down the days until you arrive "home".
I don't remember seeing the build-your-own droid area during my trip last December, but they did have pre-packaged versions available for purchase. My kids liked these because they were able to pull them apart and rebuild their own droids from the various pieces. As I was researching this answer for you, I did notice that
Tatooine Traders does still list the ability to create your own lightsaber and droid, so I would definitely ask about it during your visit as availability can always change.
I do know, however, that the custom, build-your-own lightsaber experience was available. My son had a great time going through all of the options and pieces and creating a Master Yoda-inspired green one last year. While it's a fun and relatively inexpensive experience, it doesn't compare to the fully hands-on adventure of building a droid at
Droid Depot found at the Black Spire Outpost's industrial depot of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
Here, you'll have the choice to create either a BB-Series or R-Series droid and follow the "blueprints" to choose your pieces and assemble your new galactic pal. Advanced reservations are highly recommended. While using the remote control feature is not permitted inside the theme park, you can carry your droid around to allow it to interact with special elements inside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. If you are worried about getting it home safely, ask the Cast Members at the Droid Depot, about arranging to have it shipped on its first mission to your home for an additional cost.
May the Force be with you, Paige, during your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know.
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
