we want to build a lightsaber and droid. is there a place to store such large items before getting on the rides?

    Bright Suns Fred!

I sense that the Force is strong with you as you continue to plan for your journey to a galaxy far far away! What better way to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge than to build a Lightsaber and Droid!

Savi’s Workshop and Droid Depot are two galactic experiences where you are the master behind your very own Lightsaber and Astromech Unit! (Tip: Be sure to make a reservation at both locations to enjoy these experiences). Now you might be wondering what to do with your new additions while you are still exploring the planet of Batuu, or even traveling back to Earth. Well Traveler, here are a few options!

The first is you can do what my sister did, and make your reservation closer to park closing time. This allowed her to enjoy the building process and not have to separate from her new creations. All she did was carry them back to her Disney Resort Hotel at the end of the night. If you don’t want to push your reservation so far back, I recommend renting a locker. Storing both items in a locker is the best way to ensure that the First Order does not capture your Droid or Lightsaber. Plus, it keeps your hands free so that you can join The Resistance in the fight on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The third option is to request that your purchases be sent back to your Disney Resort Hotel. To do this, simply ask the Gatherer at the checkout stand, to register your purchases for Resort Hotel Delivery. You will then be able to enjoy your day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and meet back up with your creations at the end of the day in your room!

You are able to carry your items with you throughout your day if you choose to do so. I have seen other travelers purchase a belt clip for their Lightsaber or even store it in the water bottle place holder of their backpacks. For your Droid, I recommend purchasing a Astromech Droid Unit Carrier. This carrier, to us Travelers, resembles a backpack. These carrying units are available at Droid Depot and will make traveling with your new Droid much simpler! If you choose not to purchase a carrying unit, just keep in mind that your new Droid will have to stay in its box to prevent the First Order from capturing it. Your Droid unit will even be able to join you on rides, but personally I wouldn’t want to rattle my new Droid with all the earthly stuff all at once! I feel that renting a locker may be the best option. Only because by renting a locker I know that my new galactic treasures will remain safe and away from the First Order!

I’m so excited that you soon will be building your own Droid and Lightsaber, May the Force be with you!
