Galactic greetings, Alexis, and welcome to planDisney! I sense the Force is strong with you, so I’d love to help you plan your upcoming visit to Batuu!
Watching my son build a custom astromech droid unit from
Droid Depot in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was one of my favorite Disney experiences so far! So, I can’t wait for you to create your very own droid, too! I’m happy to report that yes, you may choose to ship your droid directly to your home! Just alert the Cast Member at the point of purchase if you'd like to select this option. Also at the Droid Depot, keep an eye out for the specially-designed droid backpacks – my son purchased one for his droid, and he loves strolling
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with his droid in tow! He gets a kick out of watching his droid interact with other droids in the area!
If you change your mind and prefer to keep your droid with you on your flight, you can also
rent a locker to store your droid while you’re still at the theme park. At
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can find locker rentals at Crossroads of the World, which is located near the entrance and exit of the theme park. After my son built his custom astromech droid unit, we made the mistake of carrying it around the park the rest of the day, and it was a bit of a pain to maneuver on attractions! So, I think storing it in a locker or having it shipped home are two great options for you.
After creating your new droid, you’re bound to be thirsty! So, I recommend making a reservation for
Oga’s Cantina, the local watering hole in Black Spire Outpost. There are even non-alcoholic beverages for the whole family to try, including my son’s favorite, the
Blue Bantha.
I hope this information helps, Alexis. I can’t wait for you to live out your very own
Star Wars adventure!
May the Force be with you!
