Hi, Jason! Or as they say on the planet, Batuu, "Bright suns!" Thanks for stopping by planDisney on your way to a galaxy far, far away.
As a lifelong
Star Wars fan, I can tell you that there is nothing quite like walking into
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and seeing the
Millennium Falcon in real life for the first time. It is at that point that you'll really begin to feel like you've left Earth and traveled to a distant planet in the Outer Rim. The level of immersion at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is like nothing I've ever experienced before. You might see Chewie repairing an X-wing or some Stormtroopers patrolling through Black Spire Outpost. Even the
food and
beverage items that you purchase in this land truly seem like something from the far reaches of the galaxy.
When visiting Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, there are some special experiences that travelers can make a reservation for. One such activity is
Droid Depot. At Droid Depot, you can construct your own customized BB-series or R-series droid and bring it to life. Your new droid will be the perfect companion as you explore Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu.
While you can find a wide selection of Star Wars merchandise throughout
Walt Disney World Resort, the customized droid-building experience only takes place at Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. Reservations for Droid Depot can be made online 60 days in advance, and since this is a popular experience, I recommend booking as soon as possible. While you're making that Droid Depot reservation, I also highly recommend booking a time to visit
Oga's Cantina. This lively watering hole is fun for all ages. Be sure to try my favorite drink, the Yub Nub, and tell my buddy, DJ R-3X, that I said hello.
May the Force be with you!
Samantha
