Hi Sarah,
Thanks for visiting planDisney. I’m super excited to hear you're considering an Astromech Carrier backpack for your droid! Whether you’re planning to purchase one for a droid buddy you already have or for a new friend you're building at the
Droid Depot, I highly recommend the backpack!
A droid you purchase in
Galaxy’s Edge comes with a standard cardboard carrying box, but the backpack option offers a much easier and more comfortable way to transport your unit around the park. The backpack fits the droid just right and even has a little window in the back for your droid to look out! It also features a designated space for the droid’s remote, with extra room for your personal belongings. Plus, it has additional padding and straps to ensure your mechanical sidekick stays secure; a real bonus when traveling! Luckily, a fellow planDisney panelist was just in the park and let me know that the total cost of the backpack is around $64 after tax (prices subject to change).
I’ve found that the custom experiences are truly what make Galaxy’s Edge stand out as a premier destination within Disneyland. My brother-in-law had a magical experience designing a lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop. He was able to snag a walk-up reservation for the very last time slot of the day! After he made his lightsaber, he got to walk around Galaxy’s Edge right after park closing and even saw the last few droid builders of the day taking their new friends home. I hope your visit to a galaxy far, far away proves to be just as magical!
I hope these were the droids you were looking for. Wait, I mean, I hope this information was helpful, Sarah! If you have more questions or would like tips to be in sync with the Force, feel free to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We're always here to be your guide.
May the Force be with you, always!
