We budgeted everything EXCEPT souvenirs. My 6 year old son wants lanyard/pins, a shirt, a Mickey hat with embroidery, passport book, and a banshee. My wants are a shirt, picture album, picture frame, and Pandora charm. Any suggestions on a souvenir budget?

    Hello Amy!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question! No visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is complete without a little shopping! I love looking for souvenirs to take back home, and always manage to find new items to add to my personal Disney collection.

Budgeting for souvenirs really depends on each family and what their spending habits are like. Some Guests are not avid shoppers, while others just can’t leave a store without taking a little something with them. Since you already know some of the items you are looking for, I highly recommend checking ShopDisney.com to start planning your budget. You will find prices for most of the items you have listed, and much more! Don’t forget that you have to add taxes to the final price.

For my 7-year-old I usually purchase a Disney Gift Card with $50.00 and that is her money to spend while on vacation. For some kids this might be a little difficult, but it works well for us and it allows our princess to really think about how much she actually wants or needs something before making a final purchase. Disney Gift Cards can be found at most merchandise locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, of you can buy yours online before your visit.

I hope this helps you while planning, Amy! Please stop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel real soon if you have additional questions.

    Best magical wishes,
