    My brother is a vacation club member, I am not. He is using his points to purchase rooms for his family and mine at the AKL. We are going the last week in Aug. and Disney is offering the free dining plan. Will either family be able to take adv. of this?

    Hello, Bill!

    You are going to absolutely love Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! The theming, friendly Cast Members and excellent access to the animals on the savannah are among my favorite resort perks in Walt Disney World.

    Now, Disney Vacation Club Members (and Guests staying on a Member's Points) are eligible to add a Dining Plan to their resort reservation as long as they do so at least 48 hours prior to arrival. Because there is no package purchased, any free dining options which are offered to Guests who purchase vacation packages does not apply to these types of stays. Nevertheless, as a Member of the Disney Vacation Club, your brother can purchase the Tables in Wonderland card, which offers cardholders and up to 9 guests a discount of 20% on meals at participating Table-Service restaurants. As the Vacation Club Member whose points are being used for your room reservation, your brother can also opt to add one of the Dining Plans to your reservation (again, as long as he does so at least 48 hours prior to your arrival.)
