Welcome to planDisney, Elizabeth! I love that you and your brother are teaming up to plan your Walt Disney World adventure. It's always great when the magic of the trip starts with collaboration and a little teamwork!
To answer your question right off the bat: yes, you can absolutely split the ticket purchases this way! It's super flexible, and Disney makes it easy to manage everything right from the
My Disney Experience app. Since the
3-Day, 3-Park Magic Ticket and a separate
Magic Kingdom single-day ticket are two different types of tickets, it's no problem for you to buy one set and your brother to buy the other.
Here's how it works: once you both have purchased your tickets, simply log into your My Disney Experience account and head over to "Tickets and Passes." You'll see any unassigned tickets there, then you can reassign them to each other as long as you're linked together in your Friends & Family list. In fact, if you make sure you're linked together before you even purchase your tickets, you can assign your tickets to one another during the purchase process! Once you're connected, you'll be able to plan everything together, including
Lightning Lanes and
dining reservations.
So, in this case, your brother can purchase the Magic Kingdom tickets for everyone, and you can purchase the 3-Park Magic Tickets, then just assign the right ones to each other in the app. Easy peasy! This is such a smart way to split the cost and make it easier to manage your budgets. Plus, it gives you both a little ownership in the planning process, which makes the whole trip even more special.
Have a magical day, Elizabeth!
