My brother in law bought 4 park hopper passes and he was supposed to have the first park as Disneyland because he is going with my family of 6. He accidentally put California Adventure as his first park. Can he change his first park to Disneyland?

It's a small world after all, Priscilla, and I’m so glad you found your way to planDisney! I always enjoy helping my fellow Californians, so let’s get started!

I’m happy to report that your brother-in-law should be able to change his first park to Disneyland Park, assuming there’s availability for the date of your visit. Here’s how it works: He’ll need to sign-in to his Disney account at, or on the Disneyland app. On, he’ll head to “Ticket and Reservation Details,” located underneath the “My Disneyland” tab. Next, select “View My Park Reservations” and click “Cancel Reservation.” Before canceling the reservation, I recommend checking the availability calendar to make sure Disneyland Park is open for a reservation on your selected date. I took a quick glance at January and February, and it looks like both parks are open for many dates in each month. So, I’m crossing my fingers this works out for him! If for some reason Disneyland Park isn’t currently available for him, please tell him to keep trying! Availability can change, so it’s worth refreshing the calendar and checking again!

If for some reason he still isn’t able to make the change, I do have some positive news – with your Park Hopper tickets, you’ll be able to visit Disney California Adventure Park after 1:00 PM, and vice versa for your brother-in-law. So, at the very least, you'll be able to meet up with him midday.

Since you’re all visiting as a group, I also recommend linking your tickets together using the Disneyland app. The app is a great handy helper when it comes to mobile ordering food, linking your Disney PhotoPass photos, and using the new Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ services.

I hope this information helps you and your family, Priscilla! Please stop by with any additional planning questions… we’re all EARs!
