Hey there, Cheryl! We appreciate you stopping by planDisney. It sounds like you are planning an exciting visit with your brother and family. That sounds so special!
You've asked a great question and I'm here to tell you that you can do all of the above! And in fact, I recommend it.
My recommendation is to first create a
Disneyland account if you haven't already. Then once you have an account, purchase your ticket and make your reservation. Once your reservation is set, make sure your ticket is linked to your account and it shows up in your
Disneyland app. Then, I suggest you share your ticket ID number with your brother and family and have them add your ticket to their Disneyland account/app as well. Tickets can be on more than one account without any issue.
I always recommend that parties who are visiting the parks together have their tickets linked together on at least one party member's account, especially if they are going to utilize
Disney Genie+. I haven't had any issues making Lightning Lane selections in a group with tickets that were not linked, but it is a lot easier to have one person do it. They also can scan you all in rather quickly on their phone when it's time to enter the Lightning Lane versus everyone scanning in one by one.
I also suggest that you have an account and your ticket on your own account for a few reasons. The first is that if you decide to leave the park for any reason or you arrive at separate times, you have access to your ticket. I also think it's super helpful to have your own account so that you can add a credit card on file and use
Mobile Ordering for yourself throughout the day. If you end up in select shops and find something that needs to come home with you, you may be able to use
Mobile Checkout on your app as well.
Cheryl, I hope this information helps you strategize and plan your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. See you real soon!
Carrie
