Hi Lisa!
Welcome BACK to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Are you looking forward to your return to Walt Disney World Resort? Please thank your brother for his military service to our country, but also thank you for your support of loving a family member in uniform. I'm an Air Force wife and there is nothing greater than supportive family members to help get through the hardest days of a deployment but also even the mundane days of living in a strange new place.
As far as the
U.S. Military Promotional tickets go, they may purchased in only three places. On base at any point ahead of your vacation at the Ticket and Travel or MWR office, in person once you get to Walt Disney World Resort, or from the ticket office at Shades of Green, which is the military-exclusive resort hotel located on Disney property. If you wait to purchase your tickets until you arrive in Orlando, you will miss out on pre-booking your FastPass+ reservations at that all important 60 day window. However, if your brother can buy any or all of the tickets in advance, they can be linked to everyones
My Disney Experience account to make FastPass+ reservations.
Check out the info in the ticket section of the
Shades of Green website. You used to only be able to purchase the tickets there in person, but they are now able to verify a service members eligibility through a back and forth of emailing a few forms. They will ship the tickets to you and best of all, they will be sales tax free! (Tickets purchased on base are also excluded from paying sales-tax.)
I hope this helped in your trip planning, Lisa, and We'll See You Real Soon!
~Kristen
