Welcome to planDisney, Lori! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question about
Disability Access Service (DAS), a program for guests who have difficulty tolerating extended waits in a conventional queue environment due to a disability. I'm happy to chat with you about what is involved in the program, how it works, and how you can speak to a Cast Member about whether it is right for you.
First, it is important to clarify that guests who use DAS don't get FastPasses,
Disney Genie+ service, or a shorter wait in line as part of the program. These guests will still wait the full length of the attraction's wait time, they will just do so outside of the traditional queue environment. I can't say whether or not your injury will qualify you for DAS, but if you decide to discuss registering for the program, a Cast Member will ask you some simple questions about your condition to determine if you qualify or if other accommodations may be right for you. The only way to know for sure is to visit
Guest Relations when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort and talk to someone about your needs. If you do not qualify for DAS, the Cast Member helping you will offer alternative suggestions to make sure that your trip is as comfortable as possible, based on your individual needs.
I hope this answers your question, Lori, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
