Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tina! I remember when I broke my collarbone! Movement is rough and that sling is no fun at all! Fortunately, there are several rides that he should feel comfortable on, especially if he has had time to let it set a big.
Of course, remember all medications that your physician may have provided, but if you’re looking for smooth rides to avoid pain, look for
Magic Kingdom rides that have Omnimover systems, like People Mover, Peter Pan’s Flight, The Haunted Mansion (though there is some slight swaying), Buzz Light Year’s Space Ranger Spin (you can control your own cart’s movement side to side) and Journey of the Little Mermaid. You may want to avoid all rides in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (you can enjoy the many shows or the epic
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks) as they may have a heavy effect on a tender clavicle, but
Epcot has some smooth options like Journey into Imagination with Figment, Gran Fiesta and Spaceship Earth. Disney’s Animal Kingdom saw the opening of
Pandora: The World of Avatar this summer, and the
Na'vi River Journey is a very smooth boat ride through bioluminescent jungle with a chance to see the Na'vi people at the end. It’s inspiring and would be a gentle spectacle for your son!
If you have more questions about your visit, please let me know. I’m hEAR for you! ~ Lindsey P.
