This is a very broad question, but I don't even know where to begin. I have been to Disney multiple times and know what I like, but for the first time, I am taking my two step daughters. They will be 11 and 5 at the time of travel. Any suggestions?

    Hi Bethany,

It can seem overwhelming to try to introduce Walt Disney World to someone else! My best advice is to purchase (or try to find at your library) a Walt Disney World guidebook or two. My favorites are The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World or Birnbaum's 2015 Walt Disney World-The Official Guide. You can go through these with the girls to get an idea of what they might like to do at the parks. In addition, you can order the free Walt Disney World Planning DVD

We have also found watching attraction videos to be a great way to get excited by a trip. You can find many attraction videos on YouTube. The videos are of varying quality, but do help to get an idea of what an attraction is like.

I think the more you involve your step daughters in the planning of the trip, the more excitement they will feel! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let us know if we can help you with any other questions!

Wishing you happy planning and a magical vacation,
