Bro in law is proposing to my sister who’s a beauty & the beast fan and has booked a reservation at “be our guest”. As he wants it to be just them, and would like to have the “ballroom” cleared for them, can this be arranged? Maybe just before closing?

Welcome to planDisney, Ria! Thank you so much for reaching out to us.

A proposal at the Walt Disney World Resort...how very exciting! And what better place to do it than at the incredible Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park? This is one of my favorite restaurants at the resort and there is just something so romantic about it...especially at night. And that ballroom is just spectacular. The high ceilings, the snow falling outside the large windows, the chandeliers...it's all just so perfect!

If he's looking to do something extra special for his proposal, I would recommend that your brother-in-law reach out to Disney's Fairytale Weddings & Honeymoons to discuss some options for a very special proposal at the resort. This team not only deals with, well, weddings and honeymoons, but also engagements. They will work with your brother-in-law to make this moment special and memorable.

If he decides to keep the proposal a bit more simple, he can always excuse himself from the table during the meal and chat with a friendly Cast Member at the restaurant. Cast Members are well-versed in special occasions and may be able to make the moment even more special for them. I'd also recommend looking into Floral & Gifts that could be sent to their Disney Resorts Collection Hotel for when they return that night to add a little extra fun and celebration for this special time in their lives. He can also look into booking a Capture Your Moment session with a PhotoPass Cast Member who can spend 20 minutes with them capturing the entire proposal or, should he choose, the after-dinner celebratory pictures. If he goes this route, I would suggest that he purchase Memory Maker so that he doesn't have to buy each picture individually!

Ria, my best and most honest advice to your brother-in-law is that once he's at the resort, he clears any nerves he may have by simply embracing the moment and enjoying the experience. This will be a memory that will last a lifetime. Life can be difficult for all of us at times, but these special occasions are what we hold onto during those difficult times. They fill our hearts, they give us hope, and they help us remember why we fell in love in the first place. And in the end, that love is all that matters and is the key ingredient to making all the magic in the world, in both the Walt Disney World and beyond.

Congratulations to the happy couple. And thanks for looking out for your brother-in-law. It sounds like you already consider him family, but pretty soon, it'll be official. May your memories of this exciting time be just as magical and just as unforgettable.

Reach out again if you or your brother-in-law ever need assistance in the future. I'm always happy to help Guests make magic.

Love is putting someone else's needs before yours,
    Matt
