We are bringing my 70 yr old mother to MK over Easter to watch her grandson in the parade there. I was wondering if I could bring a small fold up stool for her? It has a strap and I carry it on my back. Will they let me bring it?

Hi Dawn! How exciting for your mother to be able to join you at Walt Disney World to see such an important moment in her grandson's life. Participating in one of the parades is very exciting and magical.

Disney has a long list of items that are Restricted from being brought into the parks. A small folding stool is a bit in the gray area but it does plainly state that no folding chairs are allowed. They are first and foremost concerned about the safety of their guests and with the crowds in the parks a folding stool might not be the most stable thing for your mother to sit on especially for the parades. People are jostling each other for the best location to watch as close as possible.

I strongly suggest you consider Renting a Wheelchair for her for that day or any of the days she is in the parks. She does not have to use it for every moment but she would have a place to sit comfortably when she needs the rest. Many times benches are at a premium so this would be a great answer. I took my elderly mother to Disney for many years as it was her favorite place to be and we always got a wheelchair for her. She loved having the ability to sit when needed and they are easy to maneuver and push.
