I will be bringing my 4 yr old godchild with me to Walt Disney World. What kind of documentation will I need?

    Hello Dayna,

Thank you for visiting with your question and welcome to planDisney. Let’s start by saying Flora, Fauna and Merryweather would be very proud of you. Bringing your godchild to Disney is an act of a fairy parent. They are very lucky to have you and I’m sure this trip will be just as magical as it can be.

While traveling to Walt Disney World with children what I would recommend is linking their profile on the My Disney Experience App if they already have one so you can make plans with them. When it comes to documentation, I’ve never been asked for documentation for my children at Walt Disney World nor have I ever seen someone asked for it. The only place I have actually ran into an interesting situation is when you are solo with a child they always ask at TSA who you the adult is and if they know where they are going. Other than that as long as you have your park tickets, you are only expected to have a great time.

If this is a first visit, I always recommend meeting the boss himself. When you enter the Magic Kingdom directly to the right is Town Square Theater, you can find Mickey Mouse greeting guests and welcoming them as soon as they step into that magical theme park. A great way for little ones to see Main Street is taking a ride down on one of the Main Street Vehicles. They will be able to see a lot more having that higher view, along with Cinderella Castle, in the background, awaiting unlimited selfies. If this four-year-old is brave I would recommend Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Some folks like to wear ponchos while on this ride to not get wet. But there is a decent plunge so if you or your guest aren't little thrill seekers you may want to pass on this trip down the bayou. If that is the case, then you definitely want to take them on Peter Pan’s Flight. Such an amazing attraction, and very simple. This is a dark ride, so please keep that in mind. January is a great time to visit especially that first week. The weather is usually perfect and all you will need is a light jacket most days.

I hope this visit is full of magical memories. If you ever have any other planning questions leading up to your trip visit us again at planDisney.com.

    Have a magical day,

    Jeremy A.
