We are bringing our 18yr old , autistic daughter to WDW in November. We plan on using the disability access pass. We were very excited about Avatar flight but I'm worried about the line inside being overwhelming. Where do you enter with the pass?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Elizabeth.

I’m so happy to hear you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World Resort with your daughter. I cannot express enough how many spontaneous gains my Autistic teenager makes during our visits with the guidance of Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities.

Elizabeth, I recently had the opportunity to experience Avatar Flight of Passage and walked through both the Stand By and FastPass+ Return queues and can say that I, personally, wouldn’t have anything to worry about triggering my son in a negative way. In fact, the walk through is calming and scenic in an informative and pleasing manner.

Guests utilizing Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) enter through the FastPass+ Return queue, which I found to be shorter in length than the Stand By queue. May I recommend requesting the lower levels to avoid any staircases to the loading areas? A Cast Member can assist you with this if stairs are a concern.

    Mom’s Tips:
-At the beginning and end of the ride, you may wish to cover your daughter’s eyes, or ask her to close them for approximately 10 seconds, as there is a brief period of flashing strobe-type lighting as Guests are prepared for their passage.

-The (DAS) can be used in conjunction with FastPass+ Service.

We hope this information is helpful, Elizabeth and we would be honored to assist you again soon!
