Hi, Ardonia! Welcome to planDisney!
What a special visit to the Walt Disney World Resort you have in store for your sweet grandson, Ardonia. I bet he can hardly wait to see the Most Magical Place on Earth! Let's help you plan the best vacation ever for him!
When it comes to getting around the theme parks, it sounds like your grandson could definitely benefit from having a mobility device to assist him. Checking the
policy for Electric Conveyance Vehicles, or ECVs, it notes that Disney does require Guests to be at least 18 years old to rent and operate them. However, push wheelchairs are also available for rent, so you'll probably want to go that route. You can find all of the details on how to rent a wheelchair, what the cost will be, and information about renting for the length of your stay on the
Wheelchair Rentals page on the Walt Disney World website. There's also information like access to attractions and Walt Disney World transportation for
Guests with mobility disabilities that will help you and your grandson know exactly what to expect.
Ardonia, if this is your grandson's first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, you can make it extra special with a free Celebration Button that he can proudly wear throughout the parks. Even if it isn't his first time, there's always something to celebrate! You can ask for the buttons at the front desk of your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, at any
Guest Relations location in the theme parks, and in most retail shops. A Cast Member will be happy to personalize it for you, and it will be a fun memento of your special time together.
I hope this helps you have an amazing vacation with your amazing grandson, Ardonia! Have lots of pixie-dusted adventures, and please be sure to come back and see us again if you have any more questions!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
