We are bringing our young grandchildren to Disney in December. We have saved for this but unfortunately our budget won't allow us to stay in the park so we rented a home. What can we do to try and get our grandchildren in the Mickey's VMCP parade?

Unfortunately, Patricia, there really aren't any secrets to pass along.  While there are select opportunities for guests to participate in street parades, to the best of my recollection, Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade does not feature any guests.  Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom does feature guests.  The unfortunate news, though, is that guests are chosen at random; there aren't any surefire ways to be chosen.

I can tell you that my family once was chosen to participate in Mickey's Boo To You parade at Magic Kingdom.  We were just cheerfully taking in the atmosphere on Main Street when the Cast Member approached and asked us if we'd like to be included.  It was totally happenstance.  Or a little bit of pixie dust, if you will.  I will cross my fingers that some gets sprinkled your way during your trip, too, Patricia!  Good luck!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
