We are bringing my 99 year-old mother to the park. We think she'd really like the fireworks show and she will be riding a magic carpet. Do you have recommendations on how we can have her see the fireworks without obstruction?

    Welcome to planDisney, Paul!

How exciting that you are planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort. In my opinion, The Most Magical Place on Earth always feels a bit more magical when enjoyed with those you love most, so I think it's a practically perfect idea to bring your mom along! I'm actually in the process of planning my mom's first visit to Walt Disney World in over 15 years, and I'm so excited to show her all of the things that make it our happy place.

A viewing of Happily Ever After always tops my list of magical must-dos, Paul, so I'm delighted to help you provide your mom with a pixie-dusted evening!
    • You'll conveniently find dedicated viewing spots for Guests in wheelchairs and ECVs in the area between Casey's Corner and Cinderella Castle. It's important to keep in mind that this space is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so I suggest speaking with a Cast Member earlier in the day to see what time they suggest arriving to secure a spot.
    • For a guaranteed viewing spot, you might consider booking a Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party. These separately ticketed Enchanting Extras include all-you-care-to-enjoy desserts either before or after Happily Ever After as well as access to a dedicated viewing area for the fireworks display. Seats & Sweets is an additional option for those who would rather enjoy Happily Ever After while seated.
    • If you think your mother would prefer to enjoy the fireworks from a less-congested vantage point, I suggest heading over to Disney's Contemporary Resort. Here, Happily Ever After can be viewed from both the 4th Floor Observation Deck as well as California Grill. While advance dining reservations are recommended for access to California Grill, the observation deck is available to all Guests.
planDisney pixie dust: Be sure to capture all of the magical memories you make with your mom by using Disney PhotoPass Service. You'll find these photographers scattered throughout Walt Disney World Resort, and the purchase of Memory Maker will give you digital access to every photo taken through the service during your vacation.

I hope this information was helpful, Paul, and that you have an incredible family vacation! If any additional questions arise as you plan, feel free to stop back by. I'm always happy to help!

    Thinking Happy Thoughts,
    Lizzie
