Hi Melissa!
I simply love your question. The answer is quite honestly - yes! Your son will have a blast and so will you. I have vacationed many times with babies and preschoolers and can tell you that your 3 1/2 year old is a great age for his first visit.
To help you plan for your upcoming family visit, here is a link for
Planning a Walt Disney World Vacation for Preschoolers and Little Ones. In this link you will find a downloadable guide for preschooler's parents which is a great resource as you plan your vacation. You will notice in the link that there are over 68 attractions that preschoolers can experience.
Another resource I often use when planning my family's vacation is an independent website called Touring Plans. This private company offers a paid subscription that provides a variety of theme park touring plans and crowd calendars. You can choose touring plans specialized for young children, tweens, teens, adults, and much more.
One other tip I want to give you is information about the
Rider Switch Service. Click on the previous link to learn all about it. Essentially at select attractions that your son cannot experience, request a Rider Switch Pass at the entrance to the attraction. One parent can ride the attraction while the other waits with your son. Then when the first parent returns, the second parent can ride the attraction without having to use the normal queue. It is a great way for Mom and Dad to have a blast too!
Thank you for your question and please come back if you have any more vacation planning questions. We love to help!
Blessings,
