Hi Martha!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I am excited to see that you have a dinner reservation at the
Whispering Canyon Cafe for your granddaughter's first trip. I have probably dined at that restaurant more than any other at Walt Disney World, as Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my favourite resort hotel. In fact, I just counted up - during September and October last year, I enjoyed at least 7 meals there, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. While it might be true that the volume of noise may have been reduced, I am happy to reassure you that when I was there, all the frivolities were still in full force! If you want the entire experience I suggest you do the following: ask for ketchup; use your phone while dining; ask where the restrooms are. A cautionary note: you may find yourself put in jail for a while! Your granddaughter can also enjoy taking part in the hobby horse race around the restaurant, with accompanying music, and any adults who wish to join in the children's fun. The Cast Members who work at the Whispering Canyon Cafe are constantly full of energy, and I am confident they will provide you with a fun evening, that will be a wonderful start to your vacation. A little tip for anyone who wishes to dine there, but would prefer a quieter experience - request a table in the Library. I absolutely love the
menu, and usually choose the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Skillet and (if I have any appetite left) the Granny Smith Apple-Caramel Pie. Enjoy the shenanigans!
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World.
