When bringing my 2 year old to Disney World, do I need to include him on dining reservations? Also does he count when we scan in for Lightning Lane Multi pass or if a family member has a DAS pass?

    Hi Erin!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney as you get ready for a magical trip with your little Mouseketeer!  As a mom of three, some of my favorite memories have been at Disney destinations with my family.  I've traveled with my boys from infants to teenagers and each time we visit we can't wait to start planning our next vacation as soon as we get home!

Erin, children under three are considered special Guests of Mickey and do not have to pay for admission to the theme parks.  Since he doesn't have a theme park ticket, you also do not need to worry about including him in any purchases of Lightning Lane passes.  Instead, he'll simply be able to board with the family.  I chatted with a Cast Member and was also able to confirm that he does not need to be selected or added to the Disability Access Service (DAS) group for your family.

Did you know you'll find dozens of attractions throughout the theme parks with no height restrictions which are perfect for the whole family to enjoy together?  Magic Kingdom Park has been our hands-down favorite when traveling with toddlers.  Some of our favorite attractions with little ones here are Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid, Dumbo The Flying Elephant, and Pirates of the Caribbean!

When dining at Walt Disney World Resort, children under three must be included on your dining reservations so that the restaurant can make appropriate preparations for your party.  Even though you'll want to include him in the reservation, you will find that there are some restaurants (such as buffets and family-style meals) where he can dine for free.  This includes some of my favorite character dining locations like Garden Grill Restaurant, Chef Mickey's, and The Crystal Palace - just to name a few!  At other restaurants, he is welcome to share a plate, or you can order from the menu for him.

Erin, if you're interested in even more information about visiting with a toddler, I'd encourage you to check out the planDisney Video Library for some of our best tips.  Of course, you're always welcome to be our guest again here at planDisney if you'd like to write back with any other questions or in search of additional recommendations!

    See ya real soon!
