We are bringing our 6 year old daughter to Disneyland for the first time in February. What is a must to make her experience magical? Is there something the park does to acknowledge a first visit?

Greetings, Nicole, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s great to have you hEAR!

I’m SO excited for your daughter’s first visit to the Disneyland Resort this February! You’re going to make so many special memories with her! There’s nothing like seeing the theme parks through your child’s eyes for the very first time! The Disneyland Resort loves acknowledging this special milestone with a “1st Visit!” button. Simply stop by City Hall in Disneyland Park, or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park to pick one up. Cast Members and Characters will enjoy congratulating her throughout the day!

Your daughter is also the perfect age for a Princess makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! My daughter recently celebrated her sixth birthday by getting one done with her best friend… it was such an amazing Disney day! My daughter and her friend felt like royalty, and seeing the looks on their faces was priceless. Afterward, we headed to Royal Hall to meet three Disney Princesses. My daughter loved having her picture taken with Cinderella, her “twin” for the day! If you're interested in experiencing the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, I highly recommend making an online reservation

If your daughter is as Princess-obsessed as mine, I also recommend hopping on over to Disney California Adventure Park for an experience worth melting for… Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome! This is one of my daughter’s favorite meet-and-greets, because of the wonderful interactions with both Characters. Anna and Elsa take their time chatting with Guests, which is truly magical! Plus, they’re currently in their Frozen 2 costumes, which is fun to see!

Be sure to catch a showing of Frozen – Live at the Hyperion, just down the way from Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome (which is located in the Disney Animation Building). My daughter also enjoys getting her groove on at Disney Junior Dance Party!

Last but not least, be sure to download the Disneyland app. It’s the best way to navigate your Disney day! Use it to check attraction wait times, find your daughter’s favorite Characters, make dining reservations, check schedules, utilize Disney MaxPass and Disney PhotoPass, and mobile order food and drinks. Mobile ordering makes meal time a breeze – I highly recommend using it!

Please stop by with any additional questions, Nicole… I’m all EARs!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
