Hi, I will be bringing my 5 year old boy for the first time to Disney. I have a 7 year old daughter also. Can you please recommend me which parks will be a better choice for a boy? It seems that most activities are targeted toward girls. Thank you!

Hi Rita! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Like you, I have a five year old boy! He is full of energy and loves to be in the middle of all of the action. The great thing about the Walt Disney World Resort is that there are so many things that the whole family can enjoy, especially boys!! Depending on your son’s height, there are plenty of attractions that he will be able to enjoy! I am going to tell you about some of my son’s favorite things in each of the parks.

Magic Kingdom: Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, the Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight,  Astro Orbiter, Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial, and his favorite place to play is at the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station (make sure to bring a bathing suit or a change of clothes!) A really great place for boys to experience is the Pirates League. Your little buccaneer can be transformed into a Pirate and I can tell you from personal experience it was the highlight of many of our trips!

Epcot: Turtle Talk with Crush, Test Track, Soarin, and exploring The Seas pavilion.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Kilamanjaro Safari, The Boneyard, Its Tough to be a Bug, TriceraTop Spin, and the Wilderness Explorers.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Toy Story Midway Mania!, Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, and Star Tours – The Adventure Continues, Star Wars Launch Bay.

Don’t forget to take your son to meet Mickey Mouse…that is a huge hit with my son!

I hope that you have a magical time!
