We are bringing our whole family, 20 of us,to Disneyland Nov 19-21 to celebrate my husband & my 70th birthday this year which we share with Disneyland. We are wondering if Disneyland can help us make this celebration even more special. Thank you.

    Wow, Cheryl!

Such a great, big party and on such a fantastic occasion. Congratulations and happy birthday to you and your husband. What a wonderful way to celebrate during the Disneyland Resort's 70th Anniversary Celebration. Here at planDisney, we may just be regular Guests like you, but we are also super fans of the Disney Parks. So when we learn of other Guests' milestone celebrations that coincide with those of the parks and destinations, we tend to get a little excited for you! That's because we know what it feels like to multiply the magic of special occasions when they are shared with others. For example, my wife and I planned a special 25th wedding anniversary vacation experience aboard the Disney Cruise Line during their silver anniversary celebration. For us, it was as if all the limited-time decorations, treats, merchandise, and entertainment were made for celebrating us as much as they were made for celebrating the cruise line itself.

From one Guest to another, here are some of my top recommendations for making the most of a special milestone birthday celebration at the Disneyland Resort.

    • Drop by City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, or just about any shop in the parks at the Disneyland Resort to request a complimentary commemorative birthday button for you and your husband. Other members of your party may also pick up special "I'm Celebrating" buttons to join with you.
    • Look for limited-time anniversary merchandise that resonates with you in a special way to commemorate your shared milestone years.
    • Take photos in front of theme park icons and anniversary decorations that highlight the anniversary/birthday years you share. It's even better if you ask a Disney PhotoPass photographer to take your pictures for you so you can get your whole party together.
    • When checking in for any advanced dining reservations you may have, be sure to indicate that you are celebrating a special birthday.
    • It may seem cheesy, but I highly recommend matching shirts for your entire party. I think it's even better if they are customized with a message that highlights that your individual celebrations coincide with Disneyland's anniversary celebration. That sort of thing, along with those birthday celebration buttons, helps Cast Members and other Guests easily recognize your special occasion and offer their congratulations and support. It's like inviting the whole resort to join in the celebration with you, making the party that much bigger and more meaningful for everyone.

Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Cheryl. May you and your husband enjoy the happiest of birthdays at The Happiest Place on Earth!
