We are bringing two 5yr old boys. Should plan to rent a stroller? Are two single strollers easier to get around with, or a double? We are staying at the AK. Do you know if those pools provide floaties for the kids or do we need to bring our own?

    Hello, Teresa!

Considering how much terrain your little ones' legs will have to cover, it's a good idea to either bring your own strollers or rent them once you're in the park. The kids will be less exhausted, and you won't have to resort to giving a piggyback ride when they just can't walk any further. Plus, the shade of a stroller is sometimes the perfect spot to just cool off or relax.

Regarding the single versus the double stroller, I'd say that there are benefits to either one. With a double stroller, only one parent is needed to push it. On the other hand, they are, clearly, wider, so it's a bit tougher to squeeze through a tight spot. In addition, we really preferred the option of having two strollers when our two were younger, since that enabled one of us to take one, for example, to a bathroom while the other parent stayed with child #2 and enjoyed that ice cream we just bought, or the parade we'd just sat down to watch.  Decide if you'll always be likely to be together or if you'd like to be able to divide and conquer when necessary and choose accordingly for that day.

At the pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can bring your own floatation devices; however you can also borrow lifejackets at the resort. At our last stay, these jackets were the slim, coated-foam type, with straps for keeping the jacket in place no matter what. By the way, guests staying at Animal Kingdom-Jambo House and Animal Kingdom-Kidani Village have pool-hopping privileges at both resort pools, so enjoy them both if you have the time!
