Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Let me share with you some of the experiences that my daughter enjoyed the most at Disney's Animal Kingdom when she was a preschooler and kindergartner.
First, a ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris has always been fun for our whole family. From the time she was old enough to speak, my daughter would ask to "ride safari!" at Disney's Animal Kingdom. We all enjoyed seeing the amazing animals such as elephants and giraffes on this attraction. We also loved taking a ride on the Wildlife Express Train out to
Conservation Station at Rafiki's Planet Watch. Here, our daughter loved Affection Section, which is a fun petting zoo. Now, you can also meet Doc McStuffins at Conservation Station! Also try
Wilderness Explorers, an interactive activity that takes you throughout the park. Inspired by the movie Up, children become Wilderness Explorers and collect badges throughout the park. This is a great way to explore Disney's Animal Kingdom.
As for dining, there are many options. For quick service, Flame Tree Barbecue offers delicious barbecue fare. For a table service dining experience, we like
Tusker House Restaurant, which features African-inspired fare as well as the opportunity to meet Donald Duck and friends in their safari gear!
Finally, do be sure to check out the
Walt Disney World planning page for families with young children. This page offers lots of great ideas for families with preschoolers!
Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Elizabeth!
