Hi I am bringing my twin 2yr old girls to WDW for the first time ( on 12/17 to celebrate Christmas / birthdays) and want to know how strict the height requirement rules are. One is 38in and the other is 36in. We want to create our maps tonight!! Thanks

    Hi Tracey!

I know how exciting it is when your children are finally tall enough to ride the "big kid" rides at Walt Disney World.  My daughter felt so special standing below the measuring stick at Splash Mountain and reaching the top for the first time.  She may not have loved the ride, but she felt a sense of pride in being "big" enough to experience the attraction whenever she wanted.

The height requirements for Walt Disney World attractions are strictly enforced as a matter of safety for all guests.  Cast Members are stationed at the entrance to the attractions to measure any guests hovering around the height requirement.  A second Cast Member typically checks heights again at the boarding area for the attraction.  Any guest who does not meet the height requirement will not be permitted to ride the attraction.

I hope this helps, Tracey!  I know it's disappointing to know one sibling can ride while the other can't.  We had the same problem on our last vacation with our children.  We made sure to let the smaller sibling choose the attractions they wanted to see the most to give them a fair say in the day's activities.

Please let us know if you have any other questions before you head off on your magical vacation in just over two short weeks!  You're going to make the most wonderful memories.  I still cry thinking about my children lighting up as they saw Cinderella Castle for the first time.  I'll never forget it.
