Is bringing sport camera monopod that cannot be extended with dimension of 9.45"D x 1.57"W x 1.57"H allowed? I have read mixed answers. Some said any hand held devices are not allowed, while some said monopod that fit in backpack is ok

    Hello, Lynn!

Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney! We're always thrilled to help Guests create unforgettable, magical experiences. One of the most delightful ways to keep the magic alive long after your visit is by capturing it through photography.

According to the official park rules, “Tripods or monopod stands that cannot fit inside a standard backpack or that extend over 6’ (182 cm) are not allowed in theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs, or ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.” Walt Disney World defines a standard backpack as being smaller than 24"x15"x18", and based on your description, it sounds like your monopod is perfectly within the permitted size. You're all set to bring it along!

Once you arrive, you'll discover an endless treasure trove of photo-worthy scenes throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. And if you want to step out from behind the lens and into the spotlight for some magical moments, I highly recommend the Capture Your Moment session at Magic Kingdom Park. You can choose between a 20- or 40-minute session, ensuring you have plenty of time to shine! You’ll also find Disney PhotoPass photographers stationed all across the parks, ready to help everyone join the picture-perfect memories.

I hope your visit is filled with bright smiles, sharp memories, and magical snapshots,
    Anne
