Hi Amanda, and welcome to planDisney! How fantastic that your seniors will enjoy a special getaway at the end of this crazy year of school they've had. Let's make it magical!
Grad Nights, exclusive hard-ticketed evenings for high school seniors, took place at the Magic Kingdom Park through 2011 when the program was discontinued. There are no current plans for a similar event to return this year, but Hakuna Matata! I have some ideas for you and your crew.
First, I recommend browsing the
2021 dated merchandise collection on shopDisney for clothing, ear headbands, and more to commemorate this momentous class. Be sure to pose for some group and family photos while donning your matching gear in front of the theme park's most iconic locations: the famous purple wall in Tomorrowland, the Main Street U.S.A. train station, and of course, Cinderella Castle. If you purchase
Memory Maker, anyone in your My Friends & Family List can view and share Disney PhotoPass images. During
the current phase of reopening,
Disney PhotoPass photographers will not handle Guests’ personal devices such as cellphones and cameras, so to make sure the entire group is in the photo, you'll want to take advantage of the professional shots.
While I don't expect your whole party to be following the leader all day long, you might want to designate a few times when everyone can meet up to enjoy a snack or experience a classic attraction together. Rides like
Pirates of the Caribbean and
Splash Mountain offer onboard photos, which are especially fun when your crews' smiling faces fill an entire boat. Another advantage of Memory Maker: scan your MagicBand or Key to the World Card as you exit an attraction that offers on-ride photos, and those images will be available for download! Casey's Corner is not currently serving, but the adjacent tables and grass seating area are great spots for a larger group to gather, snack, and socialize for a bit.
Finally, although fireworks and nighttime spectaculars are not yet part of our world, if you time it right, you can catch the
Electrical Water Pageant as it floats along Seven Seas Lagoon. Be sure to check the
My Disney Experience app for showtimes on the day of your visit. I'm picturing your group watching the show from the ferryboat dock at the Transportation and Ticket Center or a nearby Resort Hotel as they bid farewell to their glorious day at the Magic Kingdom Park. Bonus: this would be a great time for some nighttime group pics!
I hope this gives you some ideas for making the most of your special visit. What a wonderful thing you are doing for these kids; they will surely remember this trip forever! Tell your students to
follow planDisney on social media, and check out our
Panel Extras for advice on packing and counting down the days until the fun begins.
Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow,
Betsy
