Hi Louanne, welcome to planDisney!
You have me reminiscing about the trips my family took when my children were babies, probably similar to the age of yours. Those trips were filled with visits to the
Baby Care Centers, daily
stroller rentals, and lots of mid-day breaks at the Resort.
Walt Disney World Property Rules state that proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times. The rules do not specify any age exceptions. In my experience, my babies were not wearing shoes when they were being held or in the stroller, and we did not have any issues. However, there were a few times that a Cast Member at the entrance to a ride instructed us to put shoes on the baby before entering the ride. I don’t know what your stroller or diaper bag situation is, but I distinctly remember digging around the contents at the bottom of my stroller looking for a missing shoe, while the rest of my family patiently waited to enter the attraction queue. When I finally found it, I felt like Cinderella when she revealed that she had the second glass slipper all along!
If you’re putting your baby on the ground for photos, I recommend putting shoes on the baby. Depending on when or where you’re taking pictures, the ground may be hot or dirty for their little feet. A sandal or clog-style shoe that could easily be slipped on and off would be perfect for this situation. The good thing is, baby shoes shouldn’t take up too much space in your luggage!
Enjoy your family visit to Walt Disney World, Louanne! I hope you get the magical photos you’re looking for! One final suggestion is to purchase
Memory Maker. That way, a
Disney PhotoPass photographer can take photos of you with your little one. If you have any more questions, please come back to see us at
