We will be bringing our 7 1/2 month old to disney in October. Does anyone have a stroller (other than the umbrella type) that they recommend. I don't want to travel from CA with our BOB stroller. Also, any suggestions about getting in naps?

    Hi Bonnie!

We absolutely LOVE visiting Walt Disney World in October.  I completely understand not wanting to travel with the BOB.  We've found that Maclaren (techno xt) strollers are kind of hybrid stroller that fit our needs perfectly.  They give you the lightweight maneuverability of an umbrella stroller, but with 'higher end' features.

They are very durable, lightweight, and yet recline enough for a child to nap comfortably.  They also have an extendable foot rest.  We've been using them as our Walt Disney World stroller since 2006.  One of the most important things (other than the reclining seat and LARGE sun shade) is the handle height.  Much more generous than a typical umbrella stroller, so you can avoid slumping over to push it!

As far as napping--we generally head back to our resort every day for a nap.  BUT if that isn't possible, then the kids nap in the stroller.  Believe me, even the kid that NEVER naps in the stroller is more likely to do so at Walt Disney World.  We had one of 'those' kids, and the first time he fell asleep in a stroller was at Walt Disney World!  We were SHOCKED and speechless.  I even took a picture to commemorate the moment!

If your little one is still taking 2 naps a day, then I'd try to plan to be back at the room for at least the afternoon nap if at all possible.  Otherwise, plan on making it a short day.

    Have a magical vacation!
