Hi Marcia,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!
My goddaughter is adopted so I completely understand why Gotcha Day is such a big deal. The first thing that I would do is, when you check in and pick up your
MagicBands at your
Disney Resort Hotel, ask the Cast Member who will be assisting you to give you some Celebration buttons. You can also pick them up at
Guest Relations at any Theme Park or Disney Springs. Make sure you wear them proudly as you tour Walt Disney World Resort, and mention that you’re celebrating when you check in for any
Disney dining experience… you never know what kind of Magic your buttons may allow you to experience.
Another great way to surprise your kids would be with a special in-room celebration from
Disney Floral & Gifts. There are lots of “Celebrations” gift packages that could definitely be a lovely treat for your family.
Finally, budget permitting, one of my favourite ways to end a perfect day at Magic Kingdom Park is with a
Fireworks Dessert Party with Garden Plaza Viewing. Sweet treats and a sweet view of
Happily Ever After make for a truly memorable night, so I would highly recommend seeing whether there is any last-minute availability during your vacation in two weeks.
I sincerely hope that your upcoming vacation is wonderful, and that it really helps you and your family forget any recent struggles you may have had. Walt Disney World Resort is a truly wonderful place for that, and I hope your holidays bring you much peace and joy. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
