Hey there, Michelle! Thanks for visiting us at planDisney. Oh boy, what fun you’ll have at the Happiest Place on Earth with the group of students! I love that you’re thinking about adding
Disney Genie+ to your day, as this is a magic carpet ride worth taking, to save hours of time waiting in queues. Let Genie out of his itty-bitty living space and get ready to make your wishes!
I believe once you receive your tickets, you will be asked to link them within the
Disneyland mobile app. You would need to do this to add Disney Genie+ to the tickets yourself (which can be done as soon as you enter the theme park.) When you open the app, go to My Genie Day and you should see a link to purchase Genie+. Currently it is priced at $20/ticket per day.
However, since you are traveling with a group of students, and I’m unsure of the type of tickets you are holding, it’s probably best you ask the organization that arranged your travel if they already purchased Genie+ as part of the tickets, and if not, what is the process to add it once you arrive. If the organization you’re traveling with does not know the answer, you can
contact Tickets Service/Disney Genie Service via phone or through the “Chat with Us” feature in the app to see if they can help you. Also, I’m not sure how large your group is and if you can link that many tickets in your Disneyland account to manage Genie+ Lightning Lanes on your own, so you can inquire about that too.
I think you’ll find adding Genie+ to your day will make a huge difference. The
Lightning Lanes will knock hours off your wait times and give you the opportunity to explore more magic while you are there! There are a total of 19 attractions across the two parks included in Genie+, plus three additional attractions with Individual Lightning Lanes that can be purchased 'a la carte' with or without Genie+. I recently shared my
Magic Carpet Top 5 Genie+ tips with another Guest, maybe they will help you as well in understanding the cosmic power of Genie+!
Michelle, I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a more certain answer, but I don’t want to mislead you in case your student group has any special arrangements already. It’s better to check with your organization or the Cast Members specializing in Tickets/Genie Service for their expert advice!
The magic awaits!
