Welcome back to planDisney, Deborah! I'm so glad you trust us with your Disney vacation planning questions!
I'm relatively new to grandparenting, but I'm learning that everything I was told about it is true. It really is the best! How wonderful that you will be visiting
Walt Disney World Resort with your great-granddaughter this December! Let's talk about
table-service dining at Walt Disney World.
At a standard table-service restaurant, she is not required to order anything and can definitely share from a family member's plate. Typically, at Disney dining locations that are a prix fixe meal, buffet, dinner show, or character dining experience, everyone age 3 and older is required to pay. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis, so I would call Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE) and have the situation noted on your reservation. I would also email the
Special Diets Team at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com once you are within 14 days of your trip. Let them know which table-service restaurants you are planning to visit. When you arrive at a dining location for your reservation, let a Cast Member know your situation. These types of decisions are often left to the manager's discretion, so they may have you speak with one.
I know you are a seasoned Disney veteran, but I hope it's okay if I make a recommendation. One of my favorite Disney activities during the holiday season is the
Christmas Tree Stroll at
Disney Springs. It's a collection of differently themed trees that my whole family enjoys. We love looking at all the little details of each one and choosing our favorites. Last year the Villains tree was my top pick! The whole experience inspires me in my own holiday decorating!
I have a feeling that this is going to be your most magical vacation yet, Deborah! I wish I could hear all about it! If you have any more questions, you know
where to find us, so please reach out!
Always Dreaming -
