Hi there, Julie!
Thanks for bringing this question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
T-REX at
Disney Springs is one of my family's favorite restaurants. It is so much fun to dine among prehistoric creatures, and my kids love the periodic meteor showers! My five-year-old especially enjoys the Paleo Zone, a hands-on experience where you can dig for hidden dinosaur fossils.
If you are staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can begin making your Advance Dining Reservations 180 days before check-in
plus up to 10 days of your on-property stay. (Guests who are staying off property can make their Advance Dining Reservations 180 days in advance, but only on a day-by-day basis.) This means that Disney Resort hotel Guests who are staying for 10 days can make reservations for the last day of their trip 190 days in advance, rather than just 180 days in advance. Be sure to note that it's your son's birthday when you make your reservation!
We celebrated my daughter's birthday at T-REX last summer, and we ordered the Chocolate Extinction for dessert. This colossal fudge cake with ice cream is enough for four people to share. The coolest part? The Chocolate Extinction comes to your table with a smoke effect (which is from the container of dry ice in the middle of the dessert) that had all three of my kids grinning from ear to ear. It was a great way to end a one-of-a-kind dining experience!
I hope this helps with your birthday planning, Julie! Please stop back and let me know if you have any other questions about your upcoming trip. Wishing you a pixie-dusted vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
