    I am bringing my grandson to celebrate his birthday. We will check in to AoA before his 3rd bday, but change resorts to the Poly on his birthday. Will I have to buy a ticket for those days we are at the Poly?

     Jill, I'm so excited to hear about the trip you're planning for your grandson's birthday. You are sure to have a Grand Adventure! 

     A split-stay at two (or more!) hotels is such an awesome way to experience the unique theming and amenities available at different Disney Resort hotels. Your split-stay sounds fabulous! Just last summer my family began our vacation at Disney's Art of Animation Resort before moving to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. We had incredible stays! 

     Both your stays will have individual confirmation numbers listed on your My Disney Experience account. Since your stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort begins while your grandson is still 2-years old, he'll be considered under age 3 for the length of your stay there. Unfortunately, if you wait until your little guy's birthday to move to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you'll need to pay for theme park admission for him from then on because he'll be listed on My Disney Experience as being 3-years old at the time of check-in. 

     Jill, I know you want to make this vacation as magical as possible for your birthday boy! You may want to consider changing the dates of your visit, or even moving from one Resort hotel to the other a day earlier so that your grandson is still 2-years old at the time of the second check-in date. I recommend calling the Disney Resort Hotel Reservation line at (407) 939-1936. A friendly Cast Member there would be happy to discuss your options with you!
