So we are bringing our grands and some going to be on adult quick service menu but are picky eaters and only want chicken fingers. I see some of the restaurants have only chicken fingers on kids menu. Can they order this or get 4

Hey there, Karen, and welcome to planDisney.

I’m so happy you’ve found us. Let me begin with, hello, I’m Shantel, and I am an unofficial picky eater. So I am right there with your picky eaters, except I am an adult with my own littles. I do put on a brave face so that they can be more willing to try new things, but sometimes, it just doesn't work.

It sounds like you’ll be visiting using the Quick Service Dining Plan. Depending on your party, my first recommendation might work for you. We are a family of four. There are three adults and one child. On a few occasions, we do a background switch. We order like normal, and then once we are back at the table, my child will get the adult meal, and I’ll eat their kids' meal. That way, both credits are used at the same time. Since the adult portion is usually larger, we end up sharing both meals, picking our favorites from both plates.

Another option you have is to just ask the Cast Member at the dining location. I have noticed that it varies by location, but it doesn't hurt to ask. My son recently became a Disney Adult (over the age of 9), and we’ve just asked what options are when we get there. Most recently at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, he was able to order from the kids' menu. There was a slight price difference, but nothing too concerning. I will add that we were not using the dining plan during this experience.

Something else you can do is save those adult credits for a location they would much rather enjoy and pay out of pocket for the kids’ meal. Depending on their appetite, they might need that adult credit later in the day. I  also recommend taking the time to show them the menu and search for pictures to show them. They might surprise you and be willing to try something different. I like to open the My Disney Experience app and start a mobile order when looking at a new dining location. When mobile ordering, you can see pictures of the food items on the menu, and for my little ones, see the options give them the chance to be a little more open to trying new things.

Karen, I hope these options help you plan out your meals. Have the best visit, and soak in all those new memories you’ll make with your grandchildren. And if there’s anything else we can help with, please visit us again.

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
