    I am bringing my 2 granddaughters to WDW in Dec, 2017. Rather than purchasing gift cards, can I have money added to their Magic Bands so that they can be responsible for their own spending. Thank you.

    Grandmas are truly the best! I bet your granddaughters are so excited to be visiting Walt Disney World with you.

    If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, your girls can charge back to the room using their MagicBands. However, the bands themselves do not store any financial, credit card, or gift card information. You can tell them their spending limits so they stay within budget. Remember that a credit card needs to be on file at your Disney hotel to have charging privileges. Account balances can be paid at your hotel's front desk with cash, credit, or Disney Gift Cards.

    If you prefer, you can give them Disney Gift Cards but they will have to carry them around. After each transaction, the Gift Card balance is listed so it is a convenient way to stay within spending limits and also know exactly how much "fun money" is left.

    Now, Grandma, it is great that you have spending money planned for your princesses. But, don't forget to splurge on something special for yourself! There are some great Vera Bradley totes or adorable picture frames, so make sure to shop for that perfect Disney souvenir!
