We are bringing our granddaughters ages 7 & 5 for their 1st trip to Disneyland in early May. What can we do to make this trip magical for them?

    Hey there Carol!

Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you are planning a magical experience at The Happiest Place On Earth with your littlest Mouseketeers this spring. What a treat! It’s an honor to answer this question for you today because I know you’re going to make countless memories with your grandchildren at the Disneyland Resort that you will each treasure forever.

When I took my little man-cub to the Resort for the very first time, we picked up a special celebration button that said "First Visit" for him at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A.  And you may even like to have your little ones’ silhouette portraits made at the Silhouette Studio for a unique keepsake.

Now Carol, the age range that tends to enjoy the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique the most is guests aged 3-12 years old, so it sounds like your little princesses are right in that sweet spot!

My panelist friend, panelist Amanda D, has shared some of her favorite secrets on how to make your little princess’ visit special for you and the whole family. She really describes how to make an experience that your cast of characters can enjoy all the live-long day!

Are you familiar with the Disney Genie Service, Carol? Even if you and your princesses spend a large amount of time in Fantasyland with very few opportunities to use Lightning Lanes, you'll have unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads during your stay. That's wonderful because you can focus on your family, worrying less about capturing their priceless reactions since the Disney photographers can! Also, don’t forget to download the Disneyland Mobile App if you haven’t already. This will be where you upload your tickets, but more importantly, familiarizing yourself with this app will save precious minutes navigating wait times. And you'll also be able to place mobile orders for meals, snacks & beverages for pickup with minimal waiting. You'll be one jump ahead of the breadline and one step ahead of the crowd!

Finally, have you considered making a reservation for a character breakfast dining location, Carol? I find that it's the best way for you to satisfy your rumbly tummy and for your little Mouseketeers to meet Mickey & Friends in one place. The Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn is popular, but Goofy’s Kitchen holds a special place in my heart because we spent my very first Mother’s Day there last year. My little man-cub enjoyed chewing on the famous Mickey Waffles, and my husband enjoyed his fill of chilaquiles too!

I loved sharing these tips with you and I hope you found them to be helpful too! Please feel free to come back and ask me any other questions now that you’ve got a friend in me. I love to share ways to keep those tiny Mouseketeers comfortable and happy in the parks.

    See ya real soon,
    Danielle
