Bringing Granddaughter to visit the Parks, she is battling brain cancer. We have been given a letter from her treatment facility (Florida Proton Center) requesting that she not be made to wait in line, but I hear the policy has changed. What is the policy?

Hi Patricia, welcome to the Disney Parks Mom's Panel!

In the last few days Disney's Guest Assistance Card (GAC) has been replaced by a new program - Disability Access Service Card.

The purpose of this change is to create a more consistent experience to all quests, while providing accommodations to guests who are not able to wait in a conventional queue environment due to a disability (including non-apparent disabilities).

The new program will provide a return time for an attraction based on the current wait time.  Guests then will be able to enjoy the attraction with little or no wait.
The details of this new program are still under development.

With the new program already in place you do not have to worry about your granddaughter waiting in line.

If you have any other concern with this new program I urge you to contact Disney's Guest Relations.

We wish for a full recovery of your granddaughter and that she get to enjoy to the fullest her visit to Walt Disney World.

Thank you for visiting and letting us help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
